Overview

Bac Ninh is the smallest province in Vietnam, in the Red River Delta and located in the Northern key economic region. Bac Ninh is adjacent to the Northern Midlands in Bac Giang province. Bac Ninh city is located 30 km northeast of central Hanoi. The province borders Hanoi capital in the west and southwest, Bac Giang province in the north, Hai Duong province in the east and southeast, and Hung Yen province in the south.

The historical and cultural features have created Bac Ninh's potential for cultural tourism development. Bac Ninh has 3 tourist areas: cultural tourist area of Co Me folk song (Bac Ninh city); Dam temple cultural tourism area (Tu Son town); and Buddha cultural tourism area (Tien Du district).

Bac Ninh is famous for its folk songs. Bac Ninh is the center of the ancient Kinh Bac region. Currently, in Bac Ninh province, there are about 41 notable festivals in a year. In which, there are big festivals such as Dau pagoda festival, Lim festival, Do temple festival, and Ba Chua Kho temple festival. The people of Bac Ninh with cultural traditions, hospitality, diligence, creativity, and skillful hands have created a region with hundreds of occupations such as silk, ceramics production, bronze casting, silver carving, wood carving, paper making, folk painting, etc, but the most outstanding is probably their folk songs.
